The second race of the Calcutta Races – Summer Meeting Second Day on Friday, 6th March, 2026 saw Phenomenal Lady deliver a confident performance to win The Adiella Handicap, a Class V contest for horses rated 1–26 over 1100 metres, run at 03:00 PM. Guided by Vinod Shinde and trained by Rutherford Alford, the mare raced to a decisive victory for the owners M/s Cherie Sports Pvt Ltd, stamping her authority in the sprint event. Early reports from the Kolkata race result 6 March confirmed that Phenomenal Lady’s finishing burst proved too strong for her rivals in this competitive handicap.
As the field broke from the gates, several runners showed early speed in the short-distance dash, but Phenomenal Lady settled comfortably under Vinod Shinde before launching a well-timed challenge approaching the final furlong. Responding smartly to the jockey’s urging, she quickened impressively in the closing stages, surging ahead to establish a clear advantage and maintain it through the run to the winning post.
Cashaban, ridden by Vishal N. Bunde and trained by Sabeel Shariff, finished second after staying on steadily in the straight. Schwarzenegger, partnered by Sah Farid Ansari and trained by Vikash Jaiswal, secured third place, completing the minor placings after battling on gamely behind the leading pair.
With The Adiella Handicap concluded, attention at the Royal Calcutta Turf Club quickly shifted to the next contest on the card — The Obligado Handicap, scheduled for 03:30 PM, as the afternoon’s racing action continued to build momentum.
