The fourth day of the Spring Meeting at the Royal Calcutta Turf Club opened with a sharp and decisive performance in Race 1, The Silver Handicap, as LAHINA claimed top honours in the Class V (Horses Rated 1–26) contest over 1200 metres on Wednesday, 25th February, 2026. Sent off for the 2.00 PM sprint, LAHINA powered home under Vishal N Bunde to secure victory for trainer Sabeel Shariff and owners Dr Pushkaraj B Thakur & Mr Sabeel Shariff, setting the tone for the afternoon’s competitive card. This Kolkata race result 25 february sets the early benchmark for the day’s proceedings at the historic Kolkata venue.

Breaking alertly from the gates, LAHINA was quickly into stride and settled just off the early pace as the field charged through the opening furlongs. Vishal N Bunde rode with patience, allowing the leaders to show the way before angling out for a clear run approaching the final 400 metres. Once balanced for the drive, LAHINA responded gamely, lengthening her stride inside the last furlong and asserting her authority to draw clear where it mattered most.

DANCING QUEEN, guided by Sah Farid Ansari and trained by Vikash Jaiswal, chased bravely but had to settle for second after staying on without quite matching the winner’s finishing kick. ROYAL KING, ridden by A.A. Vikrant for trainer Shafiq Khan, kept on steadily to claim third, ensuring a competitive finish among the minor placings.

With the opener concluded in style, attention now turns to The Eastern Air Command Cup, scheduled for 02:30 PM, as the Spring Meeting gathers momentum and promises further excitement through the afternoon at Kolkata.
