The fifth race of the day, The Calorific Cup, a Class II contest for horses rated 61–86 (with those rated 41–66 also eligible), over 1100 metres at Calcutta Racecourse, saw Victoria Cross (J: Suraj Narredu, T: Neil Darashah) storm to victory on Friday, 20th February, 2026 at 4:30 PM. Racing in the colours of Ms Ameeta Mehra, the winner clocked an impressive 1:04.676, marking a dominant performance in a competitive field. The Kolkata race result 20 February highlighted Victoria Cross’s early speed and finishing punch as key to her success.

From the start, Victoria Cross broke cleanly and positioned herself prominently near the pace. As the field rounded the final bend, she responded to Suraj Narredu’s urgings, showing a decisive burst of acceleration to pull clear in the final 200 metres, leaving little doubt about her superiority. The tactics were textbook: conserve early, strike decisively, and finish strongly.

The runner-up MORANO(J: Imran Chisty, T: Aashay Doctor) ran a game race, finishing in 1:05.350, staying close to the winner until the final strides. Casha (J: Vishal N Bunde, T: Ritesh E. K) claimed third in 1:05.508, ensuring the top three were separated by mere fractions of a second.
