The winner races in the silks of Mrs Radhika Narredu & Mr Teja Gollapudi, who were rewarded for their patience with a polished mile performance.

Breaking alertly, Verrazzano settled comfortably within striking distance as the field found its rhythm down the backstretch. The tempo was honest without being relentless, allowing A. A. Vikrant to conserve energy for the decisive moment. Swinging into the straight, the gelding responded willingly when angled out for a clear run. Showing a neat turn of foot inside the final furlong, Verrazzano edged ahead under confident handling and held firm in the closing strides to secure a well-timed success.

Royal Member (J: R S Bhati, T: Javed Khan) ran a gallant race in defeat, clocking 1:40.442 after pressing the winner throughout the final 200 metres. Mogambo (J: M. S. Deora, T: Shafiq Khan) stayed on steadily to claim third in 1:40.842, keeping the principals honest in a tightly packed finish where margins were narrow and every stride counted.

With the opener settled, attention now shifts to The Aashna Handicap Div I at 02:30 PM, where connections will look to build momentum as the Spring Meeting gathers pace at the historic Calcutta track.
