The second race on the card at the Calcutta Races, Spring Meeting – Second Day, Saturday, 14th February, 2026, produced a sharp sprint finish as CASHABLE powered home to land Race No. 2, The Aashna Handicap Div I, a Class IV contest for horses rated 21–46 (rated 1–26 eligible) over 1100 metres at 02:30 PM. In what will be noted as a key Kolkata race result 14 February, the Ritesh E. K-trained sprinter justified strong support with a polished display for owner Mr Koushik Dutta.
Breaking alertly from the gates, CASHABLE was allowed to find a comfortable rhythm just off the early speed by jockey P. Trevor. The tempo was honest from the outset, with rivals keen to secure forward positions in the short sprint. Swinging into the straight, Trevor angled his mount into clear running and asked for an effort. CASHABLE responded with a decisive burst, lengthening stride inside the final furlong and asserting authority close home to seal the contest in professional fashion.
MARCOLINI, ridden by Imran Chisty and trained by B. Mahesh, gave chase throughout and finished a determined second, staying on without quite matching the winner’s acceleration. SIR WINSTON, under Sah Farid Ansari for trainer Vijay Singh, kept on gamely to secure third, ensuring a competitive frame in this tightly matched handicap.
With the division settled, attention now shifts swiftly to The Aashna Handicap Div II at 03:00 PM, where another intriguing sprint promises to keep the momentum alive at the Spring Meeting.
