The fourth race of the afternoon at the Calcutta Races Summer Meeting (Third Day) saw Trakila produce a commanding performance to land The Indian Gold Vase, a contest for four-year-old horses and over run over 1400 metres at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, 11 March 2026. Ridden with assurance by P. Trevor, the winner delivered a polished display for trainer Aashay Doctor while carrying the colours of Mrs Rina Mahindra, Mrs Menaka Gupta, Mr Salomone N. Benveniste, Mr Marthand Singh Mahindra, Mr Vishal Doctor & Mr Kamal J. Doctor rep. M/s Deciding Factor LLP, Mr Hemang D. Doctor, Mr Achuthan Siddharth and Mr Viral Doctor.
The victory formed a key highlight in the Kolkata race result 11 March, with Trakila asserting authority in the closing stages of a well-contested sprint. Positioned comfortably through the early exchanges, Trevor gradually improved his mount’s position before asking for the decisive effort approaching the final furlong. Trakila responded smartly, quickening clear to secure the verdict in convincing fashion as the field tried to close in behind.
Finishing second was Glorious King, ridden by Nikhil Naidu and trained by Deepesh Narredu, who stayed on gamely but could not match the winner’s finishing surge. Black Eagle, partnered by Gaurav Singh and prepared by B Rajender Reddy, completed the placings after keeping on steadily through the final stages.
With the Indian Gold Vase decided, attention at the Kolkata track quickly turned to the next contest on the card, The Grand Annual Mile, scheduled to be run at 4:30 PM, promising another competitive chapter in the afternoon’s racing programme.
