Race number three at the Royal Calcutta Turf Club on Sunday, 11 January 2026, produced a decisive performance as Aabushan landed THE ASLAM KADER MEMORIAL CUP, a Class II contest for horses rated 61–86 (41–66 eligible), over 1600 metres at 1:00 PM. In a result that quickly became a talking point of the Kolkata race result 11 January, Aabushan justified strong support with a controlled and professional display for trainer Patrick Quinn, carrying the colours of Mr Joydeep Paul rep. M/s Abhyagama Hospitality LLP, and ridden with confidence by Hindu Singh.

Settled into a comfortable rhythm through the early stages, Aabushan travelled sweetly behind the pace as the field sorted itself out around the sweeping turns. Hindu Singh waited patiently before asking his mount to lengthen stride approaching the final furlong, and the response was immediate. Once produced, Aabushan asserted steadily, drawing clear in the closing stages to seal the issue without ever looking under serious threat.

The runner-up spot went to Aeropoli (J: Mukesh Kumar, T: Aashay Doctor), who kept on gamely after being asked for an effort turning for home but could not bridge the gap to the winner. This Is Gold (J: Imran Chisty, T: Deepesh Narredu) stayed on resolutely to claim third, ensuring a competitive finish among the placed horses.

With that contest settled, attention at RCTC quickly shifted to the next engagement on the card, THE HALL OF FAMER CUP (Division I) at 1:30 PM, as the Winter Meeting continued to gather momentum through a compelling Sunday afternoon.
