Seven-Race Card Headlines Thursday at RCTC Featuring Mysore Race Club Ltd Cup

As the afternoon progresses, competitive racing will unfold at the Royal Calcutta Turf Club (RCTC) on Thursday, 12 March, when a structured seven-race programme will be conducted featuring contests across multiple classes and distances. The meeting will assemble runners from the lower handicap divisions through to established performers in the day’s principal event. Sprint handicaps and mile races will shape the afternoon schedule, culminating in the feature contest, The Mysore Race Club Ltd Cup, the afternoon’s feature race.

Proceedings will begin with The Fly Like The Wind Handicap, scheduled at 2:00 PM over 1400 metres with a total prize fund of Rs.3,00,000 for horses rated 1–26. A compact field comprising Made In Heaven, Strong Talons, Amalfitana, Lineupandcollect and Moneycatcher will line up for the opening event, setting the tone for the day’s racing and providing an early contest for the lower handicap division runners.

Race two, The Quasar Handicap, will follow at 2:30 PM over 1600 metres with Rs.3,00,000 in prize money. The Class V mile event will feature Dubai Prince, Track Striking, Mohsin, Born To Be Spoilt and Hermes. The longer trip will test both pace and stamina as the runners negotiate the demanding mile around the Royal Calcutta Turf Club circuit.

Sprint action will then take centre stage with The Whomakestherules Handicap (Division I), scheduled for 3:00 PM over 1100 metres with a total purse of Rs.4,00,000. Cashable, Cashmere Silk, Cashalaika, Mi Arion and Sporting Trainer are listed among the runners in the Class V sprint, where early speed and track position are expected to play a significant role.

Another short-distance contest will follow with the Division II of the above handicap is set for 3:30 PM over 1100 metres with Rs.4,00,000 in prize money. The Class IV race will feature Supreme Fantasy, Xtravagant Star, Bundle Of Charm, Spirit Bay and Swift Lady, continuing the afternoon’s sequence of sprint contests for improving handicap runners.

The afternoon programme will then move to a middle-distance contest with The Abbeville Handicap, to be run at 4:00 PM over 1600 metres with a total stake of Rs.5,00,000. Whirlwind, Go For The Moon, Togo, Cigar Galaxy and Multi Success will compete in the Class III mile event, where experience and consistent form could prove influential over the testing trip.

The highlight of the meeting will arrive at 4:30 PM with The Mysore Race Club Ltd Cup, conducted over 1600 metres with a total prize fund of Rs.7,50,000. The Class I feature will assemble King’s Retreat (Gaurav Singh), Sativur (Arman Khan), Main Street (P Tejeshwar), Raffaello (M. S. Deora), Dedicate (R S Bhati), Clifford (Sah Farid Ansari) and Ruling Star (Vishal N Bunde). As the highest-rated race on the programme, the contest will form the central attraction of the afternoon card and bring together several accomplished performers over the mile distance.

The meeting will conclude with The Mr Gorgeous Handicap, scheduled for 5:00 PM over 1100 metres with Rs.5,00,000 in prize money. Resplendence, Kay Star, Lavish Girl, Cash N Run and Chililady will contest the final sprint of the day, bringing the seven-race programme to a close with another competitive short-distance event.

The Kolkata Race Cards 12 March programme will feature a seven-race afternoon meeting at the Royal Calcutta Turf Club highlighted by The Mysore Race Club Ltd Cup and supported by several handicap races across sprint and mile distances.
