The fourth day of the Mysore Monsoon Races 2025 saw a thrilling climax to the afternoon’s card as Knotty Blush (J: P. Sai Kumar) powered to victory in the 5th race — The M.W. Chinnappa Memorial Trophy, a Class II contest for horses rated 60 and above. Run over 1200 metres on Friday, 12 September 2025 at 4:30 PM, Knotty Blush produced a sharp turn of foot to stop the clock at 1:10.469 and secure a confident win for trainer K. Purshotham and owners M/s K Kamesh & Ashok Ranpise.
Breaking smartly from the gates, Knotty Blush tracked the early pace with measured restraint, allowing the front-runners to set the tempo in the first half of the sprint. As the field straightened for the home run, Sai Kumar urged his mount into top gear, slicing through a narrow gap along the inner rails. Showing both acceleration and determination, Knotty Blush surged ahead inside the final 100 metres and sealed the race with a decisive burst.
Jersey King (J: Antony Raj S., T: S. Dominic) fought bravely in the closing stages to finish second in 1:10.598, while Serrano (J: Hindu Singh, T: P. Ruban) followed close behind to claim third in 1:10.617, ensuring a tightly bunched finish among the top contenders.
With the dust settling on this electrifying sprint, attention now shifts to the day’s concluding event — The Jog Falls Plate at 5:00 PM, promising one final dose of racing excitement at Mysore.
