Kempton Park Racecourse will take centre stage on Wednesday, January 21, as Floodlit Flat Racing will deliver a competitive eight-race programme under the evening lights. Scheduled from 4:30pm to 8:00pm, the card will bring together a well-judged mix of maidens and handicaps, offering opportunities across distances and classes as the all-weather season continues to gather momentum.

Proceedings will get underway at 4:30pm with the Maiden Stakes (GBB/GBBPlus Race), a Class 3 contest for three-year-olds over 1m2f219y. With four runners set to line up and a winner’s share of £6,480 on offer, the opener is expected to shape into a tactical affair where patience and positioning should prove decisive.

The second race at 5:00pm will be the Maiden Stakes carrying the GBB incentives for three-year-olds and above. Thirteen runners will contest this Class 4 event over 7 furlongs, competing for £5,400. The fuller field and sharper distance are likely to ensure a steadily run contest with emphasis on early balance and finishing speed.

At 5:30pm, the More Extra Place Races Handicap will bring sprinting into focus. Run over 6 furlongs, this Class 5 race for four-year-olds and up will feature 12 runners chasing a winner’s prize of £4,187, where small margins are expected to separate the field.

Stamina will become the central theme at 6:00pm with the New Smartview Racecards Handicap (London Stayers’ Series Qualifier). Eight runners will tackle the extended 1m7f218y distance in this Class 5 contest, again with £4,187 to the winner, making it a key test of endurance and rhythm.

The mile will take over at 6:30pm with the Handicap (London Mile Series Qualifier) (Div I). This Class 4 race will feature eight runners and carry a £6,281 winner’s share, setting the stage for a controlled and evenly matched contest.

Division II will follow at 7:00pm under the same conditions, offering another Class 4 mile contest with eight runners and identical prize money, where race tempo could shift as the night progresses.

At 7:30pm, the New Improved Acca Boosts Handicap (London Middle Distance Qualifier) (GBBPlus Race) will add further depth. This Class 4 event over 1m2f219y will feature eight runners competing for £6,185 and is expected to reward both stamina and a strong late finish.

The evening will draw to a close at 8:00pm with the Multi Handicap, a Class 6 contest for three-year-olds over 1m3f219y. Six runners will compete for £3,140, rounding off the card in a measured and competitive manner.

With variety across distances and race types, Kempton Racecards 21 January promise a focused and engaging midweek card, where every contest carries its own significance under the lights.
