Seven Races Set to Test Stamina at Kempton Park on Monday

Kempton Park will present a seven-race National Hunt programme on Monday, with hurdle races, steeplechases and a concluding National Hunt Flat contest scheduled across the afternoon at the Surrey venue.

Racing will begin at 12:52pm and continue through to 4:17pm, with competitive fields declared throughout the card as novice and experienced runners prepare to contest races staged over a variety of distances.

THE MARES’ MAIDEN HURDLE RACE (CLASS 4) will open the meeting at 12:52pm, run over 2 miles and 56 yards with £10,000 in prize money and attracting a field of 17 runners. Aj’s Diamond will line up under Freddie Gordon alongside Appleshaw with Bryan Carver, Approaching Storm partnered by James Davies, Connies Hill ridden by Ben Jones, and Four Decades with Finn Lambert as several contenders seek a first success over hurdles.

The second race, THE NOVICES’ HANDICAP STEEPLE CHASE (CLASS 4), will take place at 1:27pm over 3 miles and 50 yards, offering £11,000 in prize money. Saint Anapolino with Mr Jack Stenhouse, Il Va de Soi under Alice Stevens, Magical King partnered by Charlie Hammond, Don’t Tell Su ridden by Nico de Boinville and Aviation with Tom Cannon are expected to feature in a contest that will place emphasis on stamina and accurate jumping.

At 2:02pm, THE NOVICES’ HURDLE RACE (CLASS 4) will be staged over 2 miles, 5 furlongs and 79 yards, carrying £10,000 in prize money and again drawing a strong field of 17 runners. Religious Cross with Conor O’Farrell, Step Ahead under Ciaran Gethings, Sunset Boulevard partnered by Charlie Deutsch, Betgoodwin with Freddie Gordon and Coumeenoole ridden by Harry Skelton are set to contest one of the afternoon’s most competitive novice hurdles.

The fourth contest, THE HANDICAP HURDLE RACE (CLASS 4), will follow at 2:35pm, run over 2 miles and 56 yards for £10,000 in prize money. Ice In The Veins with Harry Skelton, Filibustering partnered by Paul O’Brien, Frontier Prince under Jonathan Burke, Wild Goose ridden by Tom Bellamy and Tradecraft with Nico de Boinville are among those expected to produce a closely matched contest.

The feature event, THE HANDICAP STEEPLE CHASE (CLASS 3), will take place at 3:07pm over 2 miles, 4 furlongs and 150 yards, with £22,000 in prize money available. A field of seven runners including Madara partnered by Harry Skelton, Arclight with James Bowen, Issam ridden by Gavin Sheehan, Petit Tonnerre under Jonjo O’Neill Jr. and Scarface with Brendan Powell is expected to provide one of the strongest contests of the day.

The sixth race, THE HANDICAP HURDLE RACE (CLASS 4), will start at 3:42pm, covering 2 miles, 5 furlongs and 79 yards with £10,000 on offer. Geezer Rockstar with Bryan Carver, Spitalfield partnered by Jonjo O’Neill Jr., The Two Harrys under Paul O’Brien, Walk Tall ridden by Brendan Powell and Grand Conqueror with Conor O’Farrell are among those preparing to contest the penultimate race.

The meeting will conclude at 4:17pm with THE MAIDEN NATIONAL HUNT FLAT RACE (CLASS 5), staged over 2 miles and 56 yards for £4,999 in prize money. The 15-runner field is set to include Eternity Rose partnered by Fern O’Brien, Inishbofin under Rian Corcoran, In The Congo with Isabelle Ryder, Intrastellar ridden by Benjamin Macey and Louxor de Grugy with Beau Morgan, offering newcomers an opportunity to begin their racecourse careers.

Across all seven races, Kempton Park will stage a varied programme combining maiden events, novice contests and handicaps, providing a steady midwinter test for runners and connections alike. Kempton Park Race Cards 2 February will deliver seven races on Monday featuring hurdles, steeplechases and a concluding National Hunt Flat event across a competitive afternoon programme.
