Kempton Park is going to organize Kempton Park Community Day on May 5th, 2025, with eight races on the card. The first race will begin at 1:30 PM, with gates opening at 12:00 PM. The Park will celebrate the courageous 80-year-old Victory in Europe Day in style with horse racing. The entertainment and picnic enclosures will be dressed in the traditional Great British Picnic Zone, where racegoers can sit and enjoy.

The Sunbury and Shepperton Local History Society will take part in the day and will enlighten the attendees on the historical contribution of Kempton Park and Sunbury during World War II. This will allow the locals to reflect on the community’s contribution, which led to a major turn in history.

The day’s racing action at Kempton Park kicks off at 1:30 PM with The Kempton Park Commemorates VE Day Novice Stakes (Class 4) over a sharp 5 furlongs. Following that, at 2:00 PM, is The Molson Coors Maiden Stakes (Class 5), run over 6 furlongs. At 2:35 PM, runners line up for The Handicap Stakes (Class 6), a competitive sprint over 7 furlongs. This is followed at 3:10 PM by The Fillies’ Handicap Stakes (Class 4), covering a distance of 6 furlongs. At 3:45 PM, fillies take on The Fillies’ Handicap Stakes (Class 4) run over 1 mile, 3 furlongs, and 219 yards. The action continues at 4:20 PM with The Handicap Stakes (Class 5) over 1 mile. The race at 4:55 PM features The Handicap Stakes (Class 6) run over 7 furlongs, and the day wraps up at 5:30 PM with another 7-furlong contest: The Handicap race.

The off-the-track action is full of entertainment for families. The free entertainment options include face painting, a roaming musical trio Elles Belles to brighten the park with music and stories, walkabout entertainment, and funfair rides. Local community partners will engage with racegoers under the Community Showcase program. Racegoers will learn about the work of organizations like Shooting Stars Hospice, Staines Rugby Club, Wimbledon Greyhound Welfare, and the Ashford and St Peter’s Hospital Charity. This will allow the groups to engage with attendees, share stories, raise awareness, and receive valuable feedback.

The day is a perfect blend of historical reflection and family outing at the racecourse. With thrilling races and entertainment, this race day is a must-visit event! The community will bond and strengthen their connections. The next race event will be on May 7th, 2025, named Evening Racing.
