The action at RCTC intensified as Kay Star delivered a stellar performance to clinch the Upguards Handicap, a 1100-meter contest. Trained by Rutherford Alford and ridden by Imran Chisty, Kay Star stopped the clock at 1:05.383, securing victory at 6/1 odds. This marked another success for trainer Rutherford Alford, who had earlier celebrated a win with Tender Heart in the Zelda Handicap.

Following closely was Casha, guided by jockey P. Trevor and trained by Patrick Quinn, who finished a close second in 1:05.449 at odds of 17/4.

Rounding off the top three was the tote-favorite Light The World, piloted by Hindu Singh and trained by Aashay Doctor, crossing the line in 1:05.710 at 7/2 odds.
