Jose D’Angelo Saratoga 2025 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting summer campaigns in American turf racing. On Sunday, several of D’Angelo’s key runners put in their final breezes at Gulfstream Park, indicating full readiness for the Saratoga meet. From seasoned G1 winners to emerging juvenile stars, this stable is loaded for summer success.

Jose D’Angelo Saratoga 2025: Stakes Targets for Wolowitz, Gabaldon

Among the standouts is Howard Wolowitz, a Grade 1-winning son of Munnings. He fired a sizzling four-furlong move in 44.36 seconds over the Tapeta, fastest of 17 workers that morning. Owned by Abraham Gold, Wolowitz last raced in the 1351 Turf Sprint (G2) in Saudi Arabia, but his 2024 season highlight remains a victory in the Franklin-Simpson Stakes (G1) at Kentucky Downs.

“He was sharp today,” said D’Angelo. “That was his final breeze before heading to Saratoga. The long-term goal is Kentucky Downs in September, and he’s coming into form beautifully.”

Also in top form is Bentornato, who breezed 4f in 48.86 seconds. Owned by Leon King Stable Corp, he’s best known for wins in the FSS Dr. Fager and Affirmed Stakes, plus a near-miss in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1). Bentornato also hit the board in the Saudi Derby (G3) earlier this year.

“We gave him time off post-Breeders’ Cup and now he’s right where he needs to be,” D’Angelo said. “We’ll ship him to Saratoga this week.”

Gabaldon, another major piece of the Jose D’Angelo Saratoga 2025 puzzle, posted a five-furlong drill in 57.26 seconds. Scratched from a July 13 allowance, he’s now targeting the Mahony Stakes (G3) on August 10. The Royal Palm Juvenile winner also finished second in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot and third in the Texas Glitter.

“He looked good today,” said D’Angelo. “We’re pointing him to the Mahony next month.”

Monster Joins Jose D’Angelo Saratoga 2025 Juvenile Roster

Exciting juvenile Monster, owned by Arindel, continues his rise. After a 9-length maiden win on turf at Gulfstream on May 23, he clocked 48.30 seconds for a half-mile breeze at Palm Meadows. D’Angelo is considering the Tyro Stakes at Monmouth (August 2) or the Skidmore Stakes at Saratoga (August 16).

“They’re all shipping tomorrow,” D’Angelo joked. “Nice truck.”

The Saratoga summer meet is the centerpiece of D’Angelo’s 2025 campaign, but eyes are also on Kentucky Downs this fall. With stakes runners across age groups and distances, the stable brings depth and versatility. “We’ve built a strong team this year,” D’Angelo said. “I’m really proud of how they’re coming along.”
