The King George Qatar Stakes 2025 produced a barnstorming finish at Goodwood, where the improving sprinter Jm Jungle delivered a career-best performance to take down a stacked Group 2 field in thrilling style.
Trained by the father-son partnership of John and Sean Quinn and given a brave ride by Jason Hart, Jm Jungle took full advantage of a fast pace to edge out She’s Quality by a neck. With 12 runners in contention, including Group 1 performers like Asfoora and Time For Sandals, the King George Qatar Stakes 2025 more than lived up to its billing.
Jm Jungle Proves His Class in King George Qatar Stakes 2025
Positioned prominently towards the far rail, Jm Jungle raced in a cluster that included some of the race’s biggest names. Hart timed his challenge expertly, sending the gelding into the lead at the furlong marker. Despite a late surge from She’s Quality, Jm Jungle held firm, stopping the clock at 57.80 seconds over the five-furlong trip.
Time For Sandals (10/3) finished half a length behind in third after finding her run blocked at a key moment. The front-running effort showcased the gelding’s tenacity and reaffirmed his versatility across tracks, having previously won the Epsom Dash and placed at York.
“This is a huge result for the yard,” said Sean Quinn. “The King George Qatar Stakes 2025 is a major target every summer, and Jm Jungle has earned his Group 2 badge the hard way.”
Jockey Jason Hart added, “He dug deep. We’ve had some classy horses here over the years, but this lad just keeps improving. Winning the King George Qatar Stakes 2025 is very special for all of us.”
She’s Quality and Time For Sandals Eye Nunthorpe Redemption
Jack Davison was full of praise for runner-up She’s Quality, calling her “the best sprinter in Ireland” and hinting at a big effort to come in the Nunthorpe Stakes. Meanwhile, Harry Eustace, trainer of third-placed Time For Sandals, believes she may be better suited to six furlongs and confirmed the Haydock Sprint Cup as her next possible start.
Elsewhere, Big Mojo could only manage fifth, while Australian sprinter Asfoora faded late to finish seventh. Trainer Henry Dwyer cited the tacky ground and said her next start would likely come at York, where firmer conditions are expected.
Jm Jungle’s win gives the Quinn team their second victory in the King George Qatar Stakes 2025, having scored in 2023 with superstar mare Highfield Princess. His gritty win has also positioned him as a serious contender for the Nunthorpe later this month.
