Jebel Ali Afternoon Racing: Seven Contests Set to Rattle the Track on Sunday

The distinctive dirt track at Jebel Ali Racecourse will host a well-composed seven-race programme on Sunday, 8 March, as horses across multiple divisions will assemble for an afternoon of sprint and middle-distance competition. The meeting will begin at 14:45 and will continue through to 17:45, with the card combining handicaps, specialised conditions races and a concluding maiden event within a structured fixture on the UAE racing calendar.

The opening contest, Race 1 – The Porsche Cup, will start the afternoon at 14:45. Run over 1200 metres, the Handicap (0–70) for horses aged four years and above will carry AED 50,000 in prize money. The runners declared for the race will be Dhafer, Radin, AF Amar, ES Eqab, Aasir, and AF Musalat, forming a compact field for the opening sprint.

Race 2 – Al Shafar Investment Stakes will follow at 15:15. The race will be contested over 1000 metres as a Handicap (0–90) for three-year-olds and older, offering AED 100,000 in prize money. The lineup will feature Vespasian, Major Cinnamon, Fight Zone, Border Edge, Tourist, and No Escape, assembling a competitive group for the shortest race of the meeting.

The feature race of the afternoon will arrive in Race 3 – Jebel Ali Classic Sponsored by Emirates Airline – Daaeemm Incentive Race, scheduled for 15:45. The 1400-metre Conditions race will offer AED 250,000 in prize money and will include Dolayli, Haasim, Morning, Nam Phrik, New Century, and Rawy, bringing together an accomplished field for the mid-card highlight.

At 16:15, attention will turn to Race 4 – Newbury Racecourse Cup – Daaeemm Incentive Race, a 1600-metre Handicap (0–80) for horses aged three years and above with AED 86,000 in prize money. The declared runners will be Devoirs Choice, Quartier, On The Way, Mawhoob, National Interest, and Goldspur, contesting the one-mile distance.

Race 5 – Jebel Ali Distaff Sponsored by A.R.M. Holding – Daaeemm Incentive Race will take place at 16:45. The 1600-metre Conditions race, restricted to three-year-old fillies, will carry AED 200,000 in prize money. The race will feature Dozalla, Pretty And Famous, Shes Essential, Asian Queen, Auntie Fair, and Dialed To Dubai, forming a specialised lineup within the programme.

The penultimate event will be Race 6 – Al Wasl Classic Sponsored by A.R.M. Holding – Daaeemm Incentive Race, scheduled for 17:15 over 1600 metres. This Conditions race for three-year-old colts and geldings will also offer AED 200,000 in prize money. The runners will include Omaha Front, Ordep, Raajehh, Rammaas, Watch Collector, and Al Khawaneej, presenting another competitive mile contest.

The meeting will conclude with Race 7 – Commercial Bank of Dubai Stakes at 17:45. Run over 1950 metres, the Maiden race for four-year-olds and older and three-year-old colts will offer AED 72,000 in prize money. The closing field will consist of Barons’ War, Black Forge, Daayyem, Fayadh, Frostfire, and Lobaaster, bringing the afternoon’s racing programme to its conclusion.

The Jebel Ali Race Cards 8 March will feature a seven-race schedule spanning distances from 1000 metres to 1950 metres, combining handicaps, conditions contests and a maiden finale within a structured afternoon of racing at Jebel Ali Racecourse.
