Inspire lands opening race on day 18 of Bangalore Summer Meeting

Inspire winning the Turf Authorities of India Trophy at Bangalore Summer Meeting Day 18, with jockey Antony Raj S. up and Storm Shadow finishing second on a good-rated track.

The Bangalore Summer Meeting entered its eighteenth day on Sunday, July 13th, 2025, with Inspire taking the spotlight early by winning The Turf Authorities of India Trophy, the day’s opener at the Bangalore Turf Club.

Trained by Arjun Mangalorkar and guided by Antony Raj S., Inspire lived up to expectations as the tote favourite in the 1800-meter contest, stopping the clock at 1:52.08. The winning connections include M/s. Arun Alagappan Racing LLP, Mr. Haider Soomar, Mr. Rajan Aggarwal, and M/s. Rapar Galloping Stars LLP, represented by Mr. Rajendran.

The race unfolded at a steady pace, with the runners bunching up through the backstretch. Inspire travelled smoothly into contention and surged forward in the final furlong, drawing clear to record a convincing win under ideal track conditions.

Storm Shadow took second place, finishing in 1:52.44, with P. Trevor in the saddle and Prasanna Kumar handling the preparation. The ownership team includes Mr. K. Harish Nayak, Mr. H.J. Balram, Mr. K. Manoj Kumar, and Mr. Aniruddha Mehta.

Lux Aeterna, partnered by Ramswarup and trained by S. S. Attaollahi, completed the top three in 1:52.61, representing Sarainaga Racing Pvt Ltd.

The penetrometer reading stood at 4.1 cm at 11:30 am, with the track officially rated as “good going.” Weather is partly cloudy and light rain is expected. Railing was placed at its original position for the day’s action.

The focus now turns to The Indian Pattern Committee Trophy Div I at 1:45 pm, followed by marquee events including The Amokbash B. T. C Anniversary Cup, The Five Stars Shipping Million and the Zavaray S. Poonawalla Bangalore Summer Derby (Gr.1). More updates to follow as the day progresses.
