A Dominant Season Across All Metrics
Inglis hosted four major sales in 2025—Classic, Premier, Easter, and HTBA—and the figures tell a story of clear market leadership. Despite cataloguing 622 fewer lots than its nearest rival, Inglis captured the majority market share in select yearling turnover. The clearance rate across its yearling sales averaged a remarkable 82.6%, underscoring strong buyer engagement and catalogue appeal.
Of the 27 yearlings sold for over $1 million in Australasia in 2025, more than half passed through Inglis auctions—over twice as many as Magic Millions. Inglis also led in the number of horses sold above every major price bracket: $200,000+, $500,000+, and $750,000+.
Unprecedented Buyer Depth
Inglis drew broad and deep participation from domestic and international buyers alike. At the HTBA Sale, there were 66 buyers per 100 yearlings sold—compared to just 48 per 100 at Magic Millions’ flagship Gold Coast Sale. International spending reached $64.8 million, a 20% year-on-year increase, and double that of its nearest competitor. A total of 145 individually listed international buyers were recorded, dwarfing the 83 registered at Magic Millions.
What’s Ahead for 2026
Next year’s Inglis Select Yearling Sales Series will again feature four sales:
- Classic Sale – February 8–10
- Premier Sale – March 1–3
- Easter Sale – March 29 & 30
- HTBA Sale – April 19
Of these, the Easter Yearling Sale is already drawing exceptional attention. Inglis Bloodstock CEO Sebastian Hutch noted that the catalogue will be capped at 450 carefully curated lots, ensuring optimal buyer focus and sales outcomes.
“We celebrate our clients’ success and understand the depth of effort it takes to get a horse to sale,” Hutch said. “For 2026, we’re excited to assemble catalogues that maximise opportunity—not just for breeders and vendors, but for every stakeholder in the industry.”
He emphasised the team’s hands-on approach with clients and buyers: “Our customer service ambition isn’t limited to Australia—we want to be the best in the world. Our strength lies in the trust we build, and we work hard to deliver a rewarding, transparent experience.”
The Easter Spotlight
The Easter Sale remains Inglis’s crown jewel, bolstered this year by the inclusion of the Snitzel x Winx colt. Expectations are sky-high, and the streamlined catalogue aims to channel premium buyer attention. The 2025 edition of Easter shattered benchmarks, and with the structure and star power in place, 2026 is on track to elevate the series even further.
