Anticipation is building once again as entries officially open for the 2025 edition of the Inglis Ready2Race Sale, a cornerstone in the Australasian juvenile auction calendar. Recognized as the most successful 2YO sale in the region, this prestigious event has consistently delivered exceptional results both in the sales ring and on the track.

Last year’s sale was nothing short of extraordinary. Vendors reaped substantial rewards as the auction delivered record-breaking figures, with the average and median prices both setting new benchmarks. Highlighting its appeal, a Written Tycoon filly bred from Soriano broke into seven figures, signaling the strong demand and confidence from elite buyers. Additionally, a significant number of lots sold at or above six figures, reinforcing the sale’s strength across price tiers.

The 2024 edition grossed an impressive $15.6 million—more than double that of its closest competitor. Notably, interest was split nearly evenly between domestic and overseas buyers, reflecting a healthy global appetite for quality Australasian bloodstock. Buyers ranged from renowned Australian stables to high-profile names across Asia, including Hong Kong, Japan, and beyond. Such engagement is a testament to the growing international reach of the sale.

Inglis has been steadily investing in the growth of this format, and those efforts are beginning to pay dividends. According to Bloodstock CEO Sebastian Hutch, the consistency of high-quality horses and increasing international partnerships are a clear reflection of the sale’s maturation. Recent graduates like Rubylot, one of Hong Kong’s most exciting young prospects, and talented local performers such as Libertad and Strait Acer, only enhance the sale’s reputation.

The success of this sale also rests heavily on timing. Strategically scheduled just two days before the world-renowned G1 The Everest, this placement ensures a buzz of activity within the racing world and aligns the sale with one of the most anticipated race weekends globally. With Ka Ying Rising recently announced as an Everest contender, the synergy between the sale and the race is expected to boost visibility and international participation, particularly from the Asian racing community.

To help vendors prepare, Inglis has organized breeze-up sessions across key locations—Taupo in New Zealand, Warwick Farm in New South Wales, and Wangaratta in Victoria—taking place at the end of September. These sessions offer potential buyers an early opportunity to assess horses’ capabilities, adding another layer of transparency and appeal to the sale.

The 2025 Inglis Ready2Race Sale is not just another auction—it’s a global platform where future champions are discovered and deals that shape racing’s future are made. With a strong foundation built on results and relationships, this year’s edition promises to be one of the most compelling yet.

Entries will remain open until August 8, and vendors are encouraged to engage early with the Inglis bloodstock team to secure their place in what is shaping up to be a landmark sale.
