The Inglis October Sale will feature a 1% share in Group-winning sprinter Ninja, giving buyers an opportunity to gain an interest in a horse who will be aimed at the $20 million G1 The Everest at Randwick Racecourse on October 17. The Michael Freedman-trained four-year-old will be among the leading highlights of the October (Early) Online Sale, which will include 263 lots across racing, breeding and bloodstock categories.
Ninja will enter the sale with five wins from just 10 career starts, including three at Group level. His record will include victories in the G2 Missile Stakes, G2 Hobartville Stakes and G3 Vo Rogue Plate, placing him among the highly rated four-year-olds of his generation.
The opportunity surrounding Ninja will be particularly notable because he will already have secured a position to represent the John Camilleri/Fairway Thoroughbreds slot in The Everest. Before the feature spring sprint, Ninja will be scheduled to contest the $1 million G2 Premiere Stakes at Randwick.
Inglis October Sale to Showcase Everest-Bound Ninja Share
Ninja’s seasonal debut in the G2 Missile Stakes will provide another important part of his credentials. The son of Farnan will record a WFA Performance Rating of 104 in that victory, a figure that will have been high enough to place him among the top three performers from each of the previous four editions of The Everest.
The 1% share will therefore give the Inglis October Sale a strong headline attraction, while Ninja’s upcoming Randwick engagement will add further interest to his entry.
The October (Early) Online Sale will also feature several established Group performers and promising younger horses. Among them will be G3 winner Oh Diamond Lil, a seven-time winner from 22 starts trained by David Pfieffer.
Oh Diamond Lil will enter the sale as a racing and breeding prospect after accumulating more than $660,000 in prizemoney. Her record will include victory in last year’s G3 Tibbie Stakes, adding proven Stakes form to the catalogue.
Another significant entry will be a 5% share in three-year-old filly Cherry Bomshell. Trained by Annabel and Rob Archibald, Cherry Bomshell will come into the sale with three wins from seven starts, including the $1 million G2 Percy Sykes Stakes during The Championships as a two-year-old.
Her earnings will already have exceeded $820,000, making the share another notable racing opportunity within the catalogue.
Beyond the headline entries, the Inglis October Sale will contain a broad selection of racehorses, shares, broodmares and young stock. The catalogue will comprise 134 racehorses, including 72 race fillies, alongside 74 racehorse shares, 36 broodmares, 12 yearlings, six unraced horses and one stallion share.
The catalogue will also include a number of horses with Stakes-winning or metropolitan form. Aberlour will be offered as a dual Stakes winner with earnings of more than $300,000, while Meridius will feature through a 5% share in the Extreme Choice Stakes winner, who will have earned more than $780,000.
Recommendation will have a 5% share available after recording multiple Group 3 victories and more than $1.2 million in earnings. Regal Zeus will also feature through four 5% shares in the 12-time winner, whose record will include five Stakes victories.
Several breeding prospects will add further depth to the sale. Bechuille, a sister to G1 winner Sweet Idea, will be offered with a Hawaii Five Oh colt at foot. Diva Express, a Group 3-winning mare, will be catalogued with a Storm Boy colt at foot, while Luiza, a two-year-old winner by I Am Invincible and half-sister to two Stakes horses, will be offered with a Brutal filly at foot.
Extremely Rowdy, a three-time winning daughter of Extreme Choice, will be presented as a racing and breeding prospect. Imperial Force will bring multiple metropolitan-winning form to the catalogue after competing at Stakes level and earning a Group 2 placing.
The stallion section will include a share in Better Than Ready, whose progeny record will include more than 100 individual winners and multiple Stakes winners across each of the previous five Australian seasons.
Other entries will include Bogey Free, an unraced three-year-old who will arrive with Melbourne jumpout form and veterinary clearance for Hong Kong, as well as Defensemen, a progressive three-year-old by Wootton Bassett with further racing potential.
The breeding section will also feature mares in foal to, or with foals at foot by, sires including Brutal, Cool Aza Beel, Rebel Dane, Southport Tycoon and Tiger of Malay.
The catalogue will have received strong support from a range of leading racing and breeding operations, including Matthew Smith Racing, Gollan Racing, Ciaron Maher, Hawkes Racing, Ryan/Alexiou, Spicer Thoroughbreds, Widden, Michael Freedman, Lindsay Park, Coolmore, Anthony and Sam Freedman, Vinery, Langdale Park, Riverbank Farm, Nat McCall and Mailbag Bloodstock.
