The Inglis Digital January Online Sale has opened the year with a catalogue that reflects both depth and distinction, offering breeders, owners and industry participants a rare mix of proven bloodlines, emerging talent and future promise across a wide-ranging draft.

Leading the early discussion is Sliders, a well-related seven-year-old mare by Street Boss, who arrives at the sale with an I Am Invincible colt foal at foot. Her pedigree alone commands attention: Sliders is a three-quarter sister to the dam of Broadsiding, the champion juvenile and triple Group 1 winner whose rise to the elite level has sharpened interest in this family. Offered with a quality foal already on the ground, Sliders shapes as one of the most attractive broodmare packages to appear online outside the traditional major breeding sales.

Another mare generating strong interest is Distinctly Summer, a four-year-old winner and half sister to Group 1 star Kimochi, whose earnings have climbed beyond the $2 million mark. Still early in her breeding career, Distinctly Summer is presented as a broodmare prospect and is scheduled to be covered later this year, adding further appeal for long-term planners.

Overall, the Inglis Digital January Online Sale catalogue numbers 461 lots, making it the first and one of the most comprehensive online offerings of the year. The spread includes 306 racehorses, of which 147 are fillies, alongside 72 racehorse shares, 58 broodmares, 15 yearlings, eight two-year-olds and a small number of unbroken horses. The breadth ensures opportunities for a wide spectrum of participants, from those seeking immediate racetrack performers to others focused on breeding and future development.

Among the racehorse shares on offer are interests in several well-performed or promising gallopers, including Moscatel, a $1.6 million yearling filly and close relative of Group 2 winner Eneeza, along with Amenable, Farcited, Federer and Imperial Force. Each brings a different profile, but all sit within pedigrees and form lines that suggest upside as their careers progress.

The catalogue also contains a series of standout individuals that add further depth. Anatomical, an unraced Toronado three-year-old, has already shown ability in recent trials and is closely related to the accomplished She’s Ideel. Buckenara, a four-year-old by Dundeel, arrives off a productive provincial campaign, while Enchanted By, a lightly raced daughter of Written By, competed at Group 3 level as a juvenile. Kinetic Jewel brings proven metropolitan success, La Sarthe is offered in foal to Alabama Express, and Senorita Zeta carries the pedigree strength of being a sister to Group 1 winner Pippie.

There is also notable strength among the young and unraced stock. Lady Cowan, an I Am Invincible filly purchased for $650,000 as a yearling, remains untried, while Tempura Prawn and Shyamalan have already shown promise through trials and early starts. Several mares are presented either in foal or with foals at foot by leading stallions, reinforcing the breeding depth that underpins the sale.

From a vendor perspective, Ciaron Maher heads the list with 15 entries, followed closely by a strong representation from major operations and training partnerships across the country. Their involvement underlines the confidence placed in the platform and the quality of horses selected for this opening online sale of the year.

With bidding set to intensify from Wednesday morning, the Inglis Digital January Online Sale shapes as a significant early-season barometer for the thoroughbred market, combining proven performance, elite pedigrees and future potential in one expansive catalogue.
