The feature of the late afternoon was the Independence Cup (Division I), where Kingston justified support with a fine performance in 1:15.819. Ridden by Abhay Singh for K Satheesh, Kingston prevailed ahead of Romantic Grey and N R I Dheera, adding further weight to the celebratory atmosphere of Independence week racing.
