Akshay from Ananta Vatsalya’s yard, stayed on for second in 1:28.971, while Normui, with Mukesh Kumar aboard for Magan Singh Parmar, finished third. The Pakhal Lake Cup (Division II), run at 2:40 p.m. over 1200 metres, brought spectators to their feet. Calabasas, exploding clear in the final furlong under Akshay Kumar for trainer L. D. Silva, registered victory in 1:15.276 for owners M/s Ramakrishna Reddy, Bharat Venkat Epur, and Mrs. Rajini Meka. Mexican Wave, gamely ridden by Jodha R. S. for K. Gachchhatu, produced late by Neeraj Rawal and prepared by Neelesh Rawal, surged to victory in 1:40.241, carrying the silks of her proud connections’ M/s Vara Prasad Reddy, N. Shyam Sunder, and D. N. Kempegowda. Northern Waves, with Mukesh Kumar in the saddle for G. Shashikanth, came tantalisingly close in 1:40.622, while Mountain Jewel, ridden by Kuldeep Singh and trained by Prasanna Kumar P., finished third. The finale, The Pakhal Lake Cup (Division I) over 1200 metres, ensured the day ended on a high. Star of Opera, confidently ridden by Mukesh Kumar for trainer D. Netto, sealed the closing act in 1:14.773 for owner Mr. Rajendran rep. Rapar`s Galloping Stars LLP, Mr. Suchit Jayraj Shah & Dr. Prabhakar Chowdary Tripuraneni. American Flame, under H. M. Akshay for trainer M. Srinivas Reddy, finished second in 1:16.817, while Top in Class, ridden by Shivansh and trained by S. S. F. Hassan, captured third.
