The Hyderabad Race Club roared to life on Monday, September 8, 2025, as a lively nine-race card delivered drama, nail-biting finishes, and moments that will linger in the memory of every racing fan. From the ecstatic grin of a winning trainer to the jubilant cheer of the crowd, the day was as much about human emotion as it was about equine excellence.

The opening race, The Medak Plate, set the tone. Nyanza, under the confident guidance of Darshan R.N and expertly prepared by S.A. Raza Shehzad, surged past her rivals in the final stride to win in 1:14.930 for owner S.A. Shehzad Abbas. Roxxane, piloted by Akshay Kumar for Mir Faiyaz Ali Khan, finished second in 1:15.009, while early pacesetter City of Moksha, ridden by Ajay Kumar for Neelesh Rawal, had to settle for third. In the second event, The Chaitanya Chakram Plate, Lake Michigan rose to the occasion. B.R. Kumar guided the bay beautifully, while trainer R.H. Sequeira’s preparation shone as the horse crossed the line in 1:26.587 for owners M/s Ashok Kumar Gupta, Rama Seshu Eyunni, M Prashant Kumar, M Pradeep Kumar & Rafaat Hussain. Bestie, ridden by MD Ekram Alam for K. Satheesh, finished closely behind, also in 1:27.070, with Sharanga, under Akshay Kumar for Bharath Singh, rounding out the placings. The final straight offered a thrilling duel that kept spectators on the edge of their seats.

The Hussain Sagar Cup Division I saw Bold Beauty produce a performance of pure resolve. Handled by P. Sai Kumar and trained by Neelesh Rawal, Bold Beauty struck in 1:28.746 for M/s Vara Prasad Reddy & A.C. Subbaiah. Blue Pantheress, with P. Ajeeth Kumar in the irons for G. Shashikanth, held on for second in 1:28.960, while Sadiya, under H.M. Akshay for Ananta Vatsalya, claimed third. The race blended tactical patience with a thrilling late surge that had the crowd cheering until the last stride.

Hussain Sagar Cup Division II delivered another heart-stopping sprint. Shah of Iran, ridden by Darshan R.N and trained by S.A. Raza Shehzad, powered through in 1:28.643 for owners Mir Saqafath Ali Khan & S.A. Shehzad Abbas. Sweet Dancer, with P. Ajeeth Kumar for Ananta Vatsalya, secured second in 1:28.920, while Shubhrak, under MD Ismail for Mir Faiyaz Ali Khan, claimed third. The final furlong had the grandstand on its feet, reveling in the pure excitement of a top-class sprint finish.

The Monsoon Cup tested both stamina and nerve. Walking Thunder, guided patiently by P. Trevor and prepared by L.V.R. Deshmukh, edged out rivals to take the win in 1:26.682 for owner Aditya P. Thackersey. Petaluma, ridden by Vivek G for L.D. Silva, finished a whisker behind in 1:26.780, with Miss Smiley Angel, under Mukesh Kumar for G. Shashikanth, completing the frame.

The feature, A. Krishnaswamy Memorial Cup, offered spectacle and class. Pacific Heights, produced by Akshay Kumar and trained by L.D. Silva, stormed home in 1:13.406 for owner M. Ramakrishna Reddy. Star Forever, with Ajay Kumar in the saddle for K.S.V. Prasad Raju, was second in 1:14.439, while Arion One, ridden by B.R. Kumar and trained by R.H. Sequeira, finished third. The fillies showcased courage and speed, keeping the crowd enthralled.

In the Y. Shanker Rao Memorial Deccan Colts Championship Stakes (Grade III), Red Bishop delivered a polished performance. P. Trevor guided the colt to victory in 1:38.906 for trainer P. Shroff and Owners: M/s Five Stars Shipping Company Private Limited rep by M/s K N Dhunjibhoy, Z K Dhunjibhoy & Ms Anosha Meyers, Ms Anita J Captain, Mr D P Adenwalla, Mrs D P Adenwalla, M/s A S Narielwala, Vispi R Patel & M/s Kingsmoor World India Private Limited rep by Mr James O`Donnell & Mr Abhilash Puljal. Prokofiev and Antony Raj S., trained by Prasanna Kumar P, finished second in 1:38.922, while Knight Regent, under A. Ashhad Asbar and L.V.R. Deshmukh, took third.

The Chief Minister’s Cup was won by Nonpariel, ridden by Mukesh Kumar and trained by D. Netto, crossing the line in 1:39.393 for Owners: Mr Rajendran rep M/sRapar`s Galloping Stars LLP, MrPRanga Raju & Dr Tripuranenivenkata Aditya Chowdary, under P. Ajeeth Kumar for Ananta Vatsalya, was second in 1:40.480, with Hugh Capet, ridden by A. Sandesh and trained by G. Sandeep, third.

The Makalu Plate concluded the day with a flourish. Jim, under Shivansh for trainer Mir Faiyaz Ali Khan, captured the win in 1:17.454 for owner Mrs. T. Rohini. Noorian, with Sonu Kumar for S.S.F. Hassan, finished a close second in 1:17.472, while Ilene, ridden by Deepak Singh and trained by R.H. Sequeira, claimed third. The final furlong sealed an afternoon of exhilarating racing, where speed, stamina, and strategy united in perfect harmony.
