The opening race of the day at Hyderabad Race Club, Race 1 – The Delhi Race Club Cup, a Class V handicap for horses aged three years and upward rated up to 25, set the tone for an exciting Sunday on October 5, 2025. Over 1400 meters at 12:25 PM, N R I Star (J: P. Trevor, T: M Srinivas Reddy) delivered a polished performance, stopping the clock at 1:30.450 to give owner Mr Meka Nitish Reddy a memorable early triumph.

From the gates, N R I Star positioned strategically just off the pace before launching a decisive turn of foot in the final 300 meters. Showing composure and well-timed acceleration, the winner drew clear in the home stretch to claim a commanding victory, impressing the crowd with a combination of stamina and speed.

Aos Si (J: Imran Chisty, T: R H Sequeira) stayed close for much of the final furlong but could only finish second in 1:31.342, while Deccan Ranger (J: Akshay Kumar, T: S S F Hassan) ran on late to secure third in 1:31.728. The top three were separated by tight margins, showcasing a competitive opening contest for the day.
