Excitement is building ahead of the Hyderabad Monsoon Races September 8, where the 14th day of the season will feature nine contests at the Hyderabad Race Club (HRC). Racing begins at 12:25 p.m. and continues until 4:50 p.m., with a card that balances promising youngsters, proven handicappers, and high-class feature events.
The Medak Plate – 12:25 p.m. (1200m, for three-year-olds)
The afternoon opens with The Medak Plate, a sprint for three-year-olds. Arizona Sun, to be ridden by jockey P. Ajeeth Kumar for trainer R.H. Sequeira, heads a field that also includes Beast Master (jockey P. Sai Kumar, trainer K.S.V. Prasad Raju), Fox Worth (jockey Antony Raj S, trainer D. Netto), Golden Aura (jockey H.M. Naresh, trainer Robin Reddy Kondakalla), Sharanga (jockey Akshay Kumar, trainer Bharath Singh), and American Affair (jockey H.M. Akshay, trainer M. Srinivas Reddy). They will be tested by Bestie, Live Legend, Special Star, and Tootsie Darling.
The Hussain Sagar Cup (Div I) – 1:25 p.m. (1400m)
Youngsters with stamina potential line up in Division I of The Hussain Sagar Cup. Great Giver (jockey Kuldeep Singh, trainer L.V.R. Deshmukh) and Nkalanzinzi (jockey Akshay Kumar, trainer Sandeep G) will attract attention, while Star Medal (jockey Abhay Singh, trainer K. Satheesh), Bold Beauty (jockey P. Handicappers take centre stage here. Sweet Dancer (jockey P. Ajeeth Kumar, trainer A. Vatsalya), Role Model (jockey Abhay Singh, trainer K. Satheesh), Hoping Star (jockey Mohit Singh, trainer Jasbir Singh), Shah Of Iran (jockey Darshan R.N., trainer S.A. Raza Shehzad), and Take A Breath (jockey Mukesh Kumar, trainer G. Shashikanth) form the core of the field. Shubhrak, Divine Destiny, Golden Inzio, Silver Arrow, Char Ek Char, and Politics make up a sizeable challenge.

Imports and seasoned campaigners will contest the Monsoon Cup. Pontefract (jockey K.G. The A. Krishnaswamy Memorial Cup – 3:05 p.m. (1200m)
This prestigious sprint brings together Runlikethewind (jockey K.G. Likith Appu, trainer L.D’ Silva), Star Forever (jockey Ajay Kumar, trainer K.S.V. Prasad Raju), Glorious Power (jockey Md. Ekram Alam, trainer L.D’ Silva), Pacific Heights (jockey Akshay Kumar, trainer L.D’ Silva), and Arion One (jockey B.R. Kumar, trainer R.H. Sequeira). The Y. Shanker Rao Memorial Deccan Colts Championship Stakes (Grade III) – 3:40 p.m. (1600m)
