The action continued on Day 9 of the Mysore Summer Races 2025 as Anushtubha delivered a thrilling performance to win The Paschimavahini Plate, a 1100-meter handicap for horses rated 00 to 25, held at 2:00 PM. Ridden by S. Antony Raj and trained by Rakesh, the 5-year-old mare surged just in time to clinch the victory by a short head, stopping the clock at 1:06.601.

Owned by M/s. Rakesh, Ujash Mahendra Patel, and Joel Gabriel Racing & Breeding Pvt. Ltd., Anushtubha’s win marked the trainer’s second success of the afternoon after Biometric’s earlier triumph. The mare showcased excellent acceleration in the final meters, fighting off a strong challenge to hold on in the closest finish of the day.

Hot on her heels was Epsom Downs, trained by Ruban P and ridden by R. N. Darshan, who was narrowly denied in the final strides, finishing with a time of 1:06.614. The runner-up ran a brave race and was just a whisker away from spoiling the party for Rakesh.

Jannat, piloted by Ankit Pal and trained by Mansoor Khan, secured third place with a creditable effort, clocking 1:06.691 to complete the top trio.
