Day 13 of the Bangalore Summer Meeting continued with an electrifying second race—the Poonawalla Stud Plate Div II, a 1200-meter handicap event for horses rated 40 to 65, aged five years and above. With a purse of ₹6,30,000, the race featured a sharp sprint and a dramatic conclusion.
High Speed Dive, trained by M. Rajendra Singh and ridden by jockey Vivek G., secured a thrilling victory in a nail-biting photo finish. Representing owner Mr. C.V. Prasad Rao, the gelding clocked 1:13.69, showcasing sheer pace and timing to clinch the top spot in the final strides.
Finishing second was The Strikingly, under P. Sai Kumar, trained by Joseph B Awale, who made a solid effort to challenge the leader but settled just behind in 1:15.17. The third place went to Ebotse, guided by Aleemuddin for trainer Arjun Mangalorkar, timing 1:15.32.
The field remained closely bunched until the final meters, where High Speed Dive displayed a powerful turn of foot, holding off determined late efforts from his rivals. The tight finish added excitement to the day’s early proceedings, reaffirming the depth of competition at the Bangalore Turf Club.
