Monday’s action at Hereford Racecourse will consist of a six-race National Hunt meeting, beginning at 2:00pm and concluding at 4:30pm. The Hereford Race Cards 26 January will include contests for novices, handicappers, hunters, and mares across Classes 3 to 5, with prize money ranging from £5,000 to £10,700.
The afternoon programme will feature small but competitive fields, with races staged over hurdles and fences and distances spanning from two miles to nearly two miles six furlongs.
The meeting will open at 2:00pm with the Hereford Easter Monday Family Fun Raceday Novices’ Hurdle Race (Class 4), run over 2m 5f 163y. The race will carry total prize money of £10,000, with Draco Malfoy, Big Ticket, Ercall Fox, Handin Manypockets, and Star of Honour set to line up.
At 2:30pm, the Hereford Quarries Novices’ Handicap Steeple Chase (Class 4) will be staged over 2m 4f 194y and will offer £8,900 in prize money. The declared runners will be Followcato, Ski Lodge, Epinephrine, Risk de Pluie, and Hurricane Highway.
The Green Dragon Hotel Handicap Steeple Chase (Class 4) will follow at 3:00pm over 2m 8y. This contest will also be worth £8,900, featuring Royal Mer, Mon Champion, Wewillgowithplanb, Passing Kate, and Hors Jeu.
At 3:30pm, the highest-value contest on the card will be the Silvershine Turf Services Handicap Hurdle Race (Class 3). Run over 2m 53y, the six-runner event will carry prize money of £10,700, with L’Astroboy, Out of Office, Col du Pre’, Nowmelad, and Latin Verse among the entries.
The Jumprite Open Hunters’ Steeple Chase (Class 5) will take place at 4:00pm over 2m 4f 194y. Total prize money for the race will stand at £5,000, with Camino Rocio, A Jet of Our Own, Important Notice, Quel Destin, and Snipe expected to compete.
The card will conclude at 4:30pm with the Hereford Ladies Day Saturday 7th March Mares’ Handicap Hurdle Race (Class 5). Run over 2m 3f 147y, the closing contest will be worth £6,150 and will feature Gower Spirit, Princess Keri, Ezmerellda, and Chosen Bae.
