The programme will then move into Class 4 company with the first division of the MORRISON HILL ROAD HANDICAP at 19:40. The pace will remain high in the sixth race, the CONNAUGHT ROAD CENTRAL HANDICAP, scheduled for 21:10. Another Class 4 event over 1200 metres, it will feature the same prize fund of $1,170,000 and should produce a fast and competitive contest around Happy Valley’s tight turns.
As the meeting enters its later stages, quality will increase with the DES VOEUX ROAD CENTRAL HANDICAP at 21:45. This Class 3 sprint over 1000 metres will be contested for prize money of $1,860,000 and is likely to showcase some of the quickest horses on the programme.
The penultimate event, the LEIGHTON ROAD HANDICAP, will be staged at 22:15. Run over 1200 metres in Class 3 company, it will also carry prize money of $1,860,000 and could play a significant role in shaping the momentum heading into the feature race.
