Set against the vibrant backdrop of Hong Kong racing, Happy Valley Racecourse will host a refined nine-race evening fixture on Wednesday, 8 July 2026. The meeting will begin at 18:30 and will continue until the final contest at 22:50, featuring a diverse programme of Class 5, Class 4, Class 3 and Class 2 events. The card will include sprint challenges over 1000 and 1200 metres alongside longer-distance contests over 1650 and 1800 metres.

The carefully structured nine-race schedule will provide a balanced test for runners across different categories, beginning with an opening Class 5 event before progressing through several competitive Class 4 contests. The latter stages of the programme will feature stronger Class 3 challenges and the evening’s most valuable Class 2 race, creating a varied night of racing at one of Hong Kong’s most recognised venues.

Opening the evening’s proceedings, the Kick Off Handicap will be staged at 18:30 over 1000 metres. The Class 5 contest will carry prize money of $875,000 and will introduce the night’s action with a sharp sprinting challenge. Country Dancer, Always My Folks, Happy United and Conspirator will be among the runners expected to compete in the opening race.

Continuing the early momentum, the Free Kick Handicap will take place at 19:00 over 1650 metres. The Class 4 contest will offer a prize purse of $1,170,000 and will provide a longer-distance examination for the field. Another Zonda, Charming Legend, Real Time and Casa Rochester will be among the horses expected to line up for this event.

Adding further variety to the programme, the Volley Handicap will be held at 19:30 over 1000 metres. This Class 4 sprint will feature prize money of $1,170,000 and will test the pace and consistency of the participants. Grand Nova, Hey Bros, Giant Spirit and Beauty Show will be among the expected runners.

Moving into the middle section of the fixture, the Eight To Glory, Presented by Lenovo, will be contested at 20:10 over 1650 metres. The Class 4 event will carry a purse of $1,170,000 and will bring together horses suited to a more measured racing style. Forza Toro, Sturdy Ruby, Superb Kid and The Azure will feature among the notable entries.

Maintaining the competitive nature of the card, the Goal Handicap will follow at 20:45 over 1200 metres. The Class 4 race will offer prize money of $1,170,000 and will return the focus to sprinting ability. Matzden, Looking Bright, Superb King and Good Luck Happy will be among the horses expected to participate.

As the evening programme progresses, the Header Handicap will be staged at 21:15 over 1200 metres. The Class 4 contest will again feature a prize purse of $1,170,000, with runners required to combine speed and tactical positioning. Bright Day, Young Arrow, Forerunner and Leading Agility will be among the expected participants.

Raising the standard of competition, the Breakaway Handicap will take place at 21:45 over 1000 metres. The Class 3 sprint will carry increased prize money of $1,860,000 and will attract a stronger group of performers. Candlelight Dinner, Eternal Fortune, Bunta Baby and Casa Of Honor will be among the runners expected to feature.

Highlighting the most valuable contest of the evening, the Hat Trick Handicap will take centre stage at 22:15 over 1800 metres. The Class 2 feature will provide prize money of $3,120,000, making it the richest race on the card. Awesome Fluke, Beauty Alliance, Liveandletlive and Aerodynamics will be among the prominent runners expected to compete in the feature event.

Bringing the nine-race fixture to a close, the Penalty Shootout Handicap will be held at 22:50 over 1200 metres. The Class 3 contest will carry prize money of $1,860,000 and will provide a final sprinting challenge for the evening. Aurio, Jubilant Winner, Do You Just and Target Audience will be among the horses expected to line up.
