The three-year-old has emerged as one of Europe’s leading milers this season and now faces another stern examination against a field featuring several accomplished Group performers.

Opera Ballo adds further strength to the field after winning the Group 1 Jebel Hatta at Meydan earlier this year. The Charlie Appleby-trained runner also produced a creditable third-place finish in the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot after setting the pace throughout much of the race. Connections have reported that he has recovered well from that demanding effort and arrives at Goodwood in excellent condition.
Opera Ballo’s natural early speed has made him an effective front-running performer, while Bow Echo has demonstrated a powerful finishing burst throughout his unbeaten campaign. Their contrasting racing styles promise an intriguing tactical contest in one of the highlights of the British Flat season.
The supporting programme also features two important Group 3 contests. The Oak Tree Stakes over 1,411 metres brings together a quality field of fillies and mares, while the Molecomb Stakes over 1,000 metres offers an early test for some of the season’s fastest juveniles.
