Deep Satin, Special Wan, and Temptable Poised for Goldikova Stakes Glory

Deep Satin and Special Wan prepare for the Grade III Goldikova Stakes 2025 at Del Mar
By | 01 Nov 2025 | Mumbai

The excitement is building at Del Mar as Yaamava’ presents the sixth running of the Grade III Goldikova Stakes this Saturday, November 1 — a race that promises both class and emotion as thirteen talented fillies and mares line up for turf glory. The $300,000 mile contest will see a deep and diverse field, each runner chasing both pride and prestige on a track known for defining champions.

For many fans, the Goldikova Stakes is more than a race — it’s a celebration of grace and grit. This year’s lineup embodies that spirit perfectly, led by Deep Satin, a daughter of American Pharoah, priced at 7-2 on the morning line. Trained by Cherie DeVaux, Deep Satin has been consistent all season, showing both speed and determination. After coming heartbreakingly close at Keeneland earlier this month, she’ll be looking to turn near-miss into triumph at Del Mar.

Special Wan looks to double up

Special Wan, the Irish-bred filly trained by Brendan Walsh, arrives in top form as the morning-line favorite at 2-1. She’ll break from the same post that delivered her last victory — a sign of confidence for the camp. Joel Rosario retains the ride for Team Valor International LLC, and their chemistry could once again prove decisive.

Medoro and Temptable bring international depth

Adding intrigue to the field is Medoro, trained by Peter Eurton, a four-year-old by Honor Code who’s comfortable from a mid-gate draw. With Umberto Rispoli aboard, the Kentucky-bred runner for CRK Stable LLC could quietly spring a surprise if she gets the right trip.

Also commanding attention is Temptable, one of several exciting European imports to arrive at Del Mar for the Goldikova Stakes. The British-bred filly, trained by Francis–Henri Graffard, won in France earlier this month and will be ridden by Mickael Barzalona. Carrying the lightest weight in the field at 118 pounds, she could be a major threat if she adapts quickly to American turf conditions.

Nadette returns to familiar ground

Nadette, by Outstrip, is among the most experienced contenders in Saturday’s race. Having already raced on Del Mar’s turf during the summer meet, the French mare knows the course well. With two third-place finishes this year, she’s proven her consistency over this distance and could find herself in the mix once again.

Race day expectations

With a field this balanced, tactics will play a key role when the gates open. The mile on turf has seen the track record set at 1:32, and with the speed on display this year, that mark could be under threat. Fans can expect a tactical and thrilling contest worthy of the Goldikova Stakes name — a race inspired by one of turf racing’s greatest mares.
