At Gulfstream Park on Saturday, Miss Vyvyanne continued her rich vein of form, producing another assured front-running display to capture the $75,000 Golden Beach Handicap for older fillies and mares over five furlongs on turf. Trained by Gail Cox for Ralph Murray and Calstar Farm Inc., the six-year-old mare dictated terms from the outset and was never seriously threatened, crossing the line a comfortable 1¼ lengths clear.

Breaking sharply, Miss Vyvyanne quickly established control under Pietro Moran, setting brisk early fractions of 21.99 and 43.72 seconds. With a clear advantage turning for home, she maintained her momentum down the stretch to complete the trip in 55.22 seconds on a ‘good’ course, securing her fourth consecutive victory.
Moran, the 2025 Eclipse Award-winning apprentice, has partnered the mare in all four wins during this streak, including a convincing optional claiming allowance success on Gulfstream’s Tapeta surface in March. The rider spoke of the mare’s natural pace and willingness.
“She runs her best races when she’s up there. She’s really fast. She just takes me there and she does the rest. She’s a pretty honest horse and very nice to ride,” Moran said. “She was just cruising. As soon as we hit the quarter pole I knew I had a lot of horse. The closer she got to the wire, she did what she needed to do.”
A daughter of Rainbow Heir, Miss Vyvyanne has flourished since being claimed for $32,000 at Woodbine last June. After a quiet start for her new connections, she closed out her 2025 season with back-to-back allowance victories before returning from a five-month break to win again earlier this year.
Trainer Gail Cox credited both the mare’s consistency and the benefit of a well-timed rest.
“Truly, she’s run well for everybody. She’s just a nice filly. We just gave her a break that I don’t think she’s had for a long time because she’s gone from barn to barn,” Cox said. “We brought her to run thinking turf, but then she ran so well on Tapeta here too.”
Carrying 121 pounds, Miss Vyvyanne shared top weight with the favourite Great Venezuela, who finished third. Le Amazonia, trained by Victor Barboza Jr., chased the winner throughout and held on for second under Samy Camacho, while Great Venezuela stayed on for third a further 1¾ lengths back.
The victory marked the 11th win of Miss Vyvyanne’s career from 23 starts, underlining her current dominance in sprint company and reaffirming her effectiveness when allowed to dictate the pace.
