As the 2024/25 Hong Kong racing season nears its conclusion, Sha Tin Racecourse is set to come alive with celebration this Sunday, July 13. The penultimate raceday promises more than just thrilling horse races—it’s shaping up to be a full-fledged summer festival packed with music, food, fun, and a lucky draw with HK$1 million worth of gold prizes.
At the heart of the day’s attractions is the “Sha Tin Racecourse Daily Rewards: Season End Lucky Draw,” where ten lucky visitors will each receive a beautifully crafted pure gold horseshoe ornament, each valued at HK$100,000. To participate, guests simply need to scan a QR code on site and complete a quick registration before 7 PM. Winners will be announced after the final race, with the prizes presented by the season’s Most Popular Jockey in a celebratory moment in the horse parade ring.
Adding vibrant energy to the event will be live performances from the popular youth band Zpecial and dynamic music creator Kiri T. The musical acts will perform on the stage beneath the Good Food Building between races, keeping the energy high and the crowd entertained throughout the day.
For food lovers, the experience is elevated by a curated food zone offering a range of themed snacks. From local Hong Kong-style street food to Japanese-inspired treats, kiosks such as “Sidewalk Snacks” No. 5 and No. 6 are sure to deliver a tasty journey for all who attend.
Following the day’s final race, spectators can look forward to the Jockey Parade—where fans will receive exclusive pony figurines inspired by popular horses like “Romantic Warrior,” “Flying Bubbles,” and “Love Racing.” These limited-edition collectibles will be distributed directly by the jockeys in the horse parade circle. If the Champion Trainer title is finalized on the day, an award ceremony will also take place to recognize their achievement.
The event extends a warm welcome to international visitors as well. Guests from abroad can enjoy free entry to the public areas of Sha Tin and Happy Valley Racecourses simply by presenting valid travel documents or passports.
To make getting there easier, a complimentary shuttle bus service will run to and from Sha Tin Racecourse. Free shuttle tickets are available at designated off-course locations and are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. After the races, return buses will operate across Sha Tin, Kowloon, and the New Territories for guests’ convenience.
Sunday’s festivities will feature 11 exciting races, with gates opening at 2 PM and the first race scheduled for 4 PM.
The 2024/25 season will officially close with the finale taking place on Wednesday, July 16, at Happy Valley. Details for the concluding event will be released soon.
