Giacomo produced a fluent performance to land The Col. Kaikushroo Maneckji Bharucha Memorial Trophy at the Pune racecourse on Sunday, August 31st, 2025 giving jockey A. Sandesh and trainer Dallas Todywalla a well-deserved success in the race conducted under the Royal Western India Turf Club.
The contest, was a class IV handicap for Indian horses rated 20 to 46, run over 1400 metres. Giacomo travelled strongly and quickened in the final stages to secure the race in a time of 1:25.826. The winner is owned by Mr. Zavaray S. Poonawalla, Mrs. Behroze Z. Poonawalla, Mr. Yohan Z. Poonawalla, Mrs. Michelle Y. Poonawalla, Ms. Delna Z. Poonawalla, Mrs. Simone Poonawalla Pandole, and Mr. Rishad N. Pandole, representing Poonawalla Racing & Breeding Pvt. Ltd.
The runner-up spot went to Ember Tower, partnered by V. R. Jagadeesh for trainer B. Prithviraj in 1:26:665, while Allez L’etoile in 1:27:105 with jockey C. Umesh for trainer Narendra Lagad, filled third place.
