Fortunate Son leads the field to win The Veterinarian’s Trophy at Bangalore, finishing ahead of Crosswater and Armory over 1400 meters.

The excitement continued at Bangalore on Day 15 of the Summer Meeting as the spotlight shifted to The Veterinarian’s Trophy, run at 4:00 PM. This 1400-meter handicap event for horses aged five years and above offered a prize purse of ₹6,30,000 and featured a field of seasoned contenders.

Fortunate Son rose to the occasion with a commanding finish, stopping the clock at 1:26.04. Ridden confidently by Prashant P. Dhebe and trained by M. K. Jadhav, the runner produced a well-timed surge to land the spoils. The ownership team of Mr. Vijay B. Shirke, Mrs. Vijay B. Shirke, Mr. Jay V. Shirke, and M/s. SKJ Thoroughbreds Pvt Ltd., represented by Mr. Prashant Nagar, celebrated a deserving victory.

Challenging the winner was Crosswater, who stayed on strongly for second under Pavan and trainer Arjun Mangalorkar, finishing in 1:26.49. Though unable to reel in the leader, the runner put in a commendable effort.

Armory secured the third spot, guided by Angad and trained by Narayana Gowda V., clocking 1:26.71 to round off a tightly packed finish.

As the curtain fell on this competitive heat, The Veterinarian’s Trophy proved yet another highlight in a card filled with quality racing. Attention now turns to the next event — The Skyline Plate, promising more top-class action from Bangalore.
