The curtain came down on an exhilarating Day 4 of the Bangalore Summer Meeting 2025 with a competitive run in the Pendragon Plate Div I, a 1200-meter handicap for horses rated 20 to 45. Capping off a day of action-packed racing at the Bangalore Turf Club, it was Fortis who emerged victorious in the eighth and final race.
Guided confidently by jockey Shreyas Singh S. and trained by the seasoned S.S. Attaollahi, Fortis delivered a fluent performance to land the closing contest. Settling in well early, the gelding produced a well-timed run in the straight to surge ahead of the pack and cross the finish line first, sealing a memorable win for connections.
Sienna Princess, trained by Warren Singh and partnered by K. Sai Kiran, ran a spirited race to finish second. She stayed on gamely in the final stages and looked momentarily threatening but could not overhaul the leader’s late dash.
Rounding off the top three was True Punch, piloted by Ramswarup and trained by M. Rajendra Singh. The gelding showed early promise and kept up the pressure but had to settle for third after being passed in the final 200 meters.
The day’s racing concluded with eight well-contested events, featuring standout performances, tight finishes, and emerging talent. As the sun set over the turf, racing fans left the venue with plenty to talk about — from Meropi’s prestigious Cup win to Fortis’s closing statement.
Attention now turns to the next racing day of the Bangalore Summer Meeting, scheduled for May 31st, 2025, which promises another exciting chapter in the summer racing calendar.
