Del Mar will welcome a talented field of California-bred 3-year-old sprint fillies on Friday as 12 contenders line up for the 41st running of the Fleet Treat Stakes, a seven-furlong contest that marks the opening Golden State stakes event of the summer meeting at the seaside track.

The $150,000 Fleet Treat Stakes is the first of eight California-bred feature races scheduled during Del Mar’s 32-day summer season, bringing together some of the state’s most promising young fillies in an important test of speed and consistency.

Fleet Treat Stakes 2026 will feature a strong field of Cal-bred 3-year-old sprint fillies competing over seven furlongs at Del Mar.

Leading the field is Legacy Ranch’s Mohaven, who enters the race after a highly successful recent campaign. The daughter of Yaupon has won four of her seven starts and arrives at Del Mar after recording consecutive victories in California-bred stakes company during the Santa Anita meeting.

Trained by veteran conditioner John Sadler, Mohaven has shown steady improvement throughout her career and will once again be partnered by Emisael Jaramillo, who has developed a successful association with the filly.

Among the leading challengers is Reddam Racing’s homebred She’s No Quant, who steps into stakes competition for the first time following two consecutive victories against allowance rivals. The gray daughter of Pavel is trained by Edward Freeman and will be ridden by Juan Hernandez.

She’s No Quant brings an interesting challenge into the Fleet Treat Stakes, having raced exclusively on turf in her first four starts. Friday’s seven-furlong dirt event will provide a new test as she faces some of California’s leading young sprint fillies.

The Fleet Treat Stakes carries added significance as part of Del Mar’s summer programme, with last year’s renewal won by Om N Joy. The race is scheduled as Race 7 on Friday’s eight-race card, with the feature expected to begin around 5 p.m. The afternoon programme will start with the opening race at 2 p.m.

With an accomplished favourite, an unbeaten recent challenger and a competitive group of California-bred fillies, the 41st Fleet Treat Stakes promises to provide an early glimpse of the division’s rising stars during Del Mar’s summer season.
