The meeting begins at 2:30 pm with the South Wales Medical Event Cover Handicap Stakes (Class 5) over six furlongs. Open to horses aged three years and older rated between 56 and 75, the contest carries a prize fund of £8,000. The race is expected to provide a lively start to proceedings, with sprinters looking to make an early impact on the card.

At 3:00 pm, attention turns to the Connolly’s Red Mills “Confined” Handicap Stakes (Class 5) over five furlongs. Restricted to horses that have yet to win during the 2026 season, the £8,000 contest offers an excellent opportunity for runners seeking to return to winning form. The sharp sprint distance is likely to place emphasis on speed from the stalls and strong finishing ability.

The feature event of the afternoon arrives at 3:30 pm with the Vibe Recruit Maiden Stakes (Class 4) (GBB Race) over seven furlongs and 87 yards. Carrying the highest prize fund of the day at £10,000, the race has attracted a field of promising and lightly raced performers looking to secure their first career victory.

Among the runners is English Time, a colt trained by Harry Charlton for owner Mohammed Jaber. The three-year-old has shown encouraging form in his early starts and brings an official rating of 80 into the contest. Another notable contender is West Byfleet, representing trainer Jack Channon and the On The Ball Racing ownership team. The colt has already demonstrated potential and could be one to watch over this trip.

Malakai Kite, trained by Ronald Harris, arrives after two respectable efforts and will be hoping to take another step forward. Grace Harris saddles two runners in the race, Prophet Squeeze and Fallen Logic, giving the trainer a strong representation in the field. The experienced mare Prophet Squeeze lines up alongside several younger rivals, while Fallen Logic makes an appearance carrying the colours of owner Jonathan Thomas.

The line-up is further strengthened by Foxy Night from the John Butler stable, Miss Gold trained by David Flood, and Wid, a filly from the respected Ralph Beckett yard racing for Al Shaqab Racing. With a combination of experience, potential and well-bred newcomers, the maiden contest promises to be one of the highlights of the meeting and could reveal future winners for the remainder of the season.

The fourth race on the programme is scheduled for 4:00 pm and is the Ffos Las Racecourse Charity Skydive for Ty Hafan Handicap Stakes (Class 6) over one mile and seven yards. The race supports the renowned Welsh children’s hospice charity Ty Hafan and offers £6,600 in prize money. Horses rated between 46 and 55 will compete in a contest where consistency and stamina are likely to prove crucial.

At 4:35 pm, runners contest the Morgan Environmental Classified Stakes (Class 6) over one mile, two furlongs and seven yards. Open to horses rated up to 50, the race provides an opportunity for performers seeking to build momentum and gain valuable success. The middle-distance challenge often rewards patience and a well-timed finishing effort.

The meeting concludes at 5:10 pm with the Zambezi Magic Handicap Stakes (Class 5), also run over one mile, two furlongs and seven yards. Worth £8,000 and restricted to horses aged four years and older rated between 51 and 70, the finale is expected to bring the curtain down on the afternoon in competitive fashion. Experienced campaigners are likely to feature prominently as they seek to end the day on a high note.

Since opening in 2009, Ffos Las has become a popular venue on the British racing calendar. Situated in Carmarthenshire, the racecourse is known for its spacious layout, fair racing surface and welcoming atmosphere. The track regularly attracts strong fields and provides opportunities for both established performers and emerging talent.

Tuesday’s six-race card perfectly reflects the variety of British flat racing, offering opportunities for sprinters, middle-distance performers and developing horses alike. With the £10,000 Vibe Recruit Maiden Stakes serving as the richest race of the day and several competitive handicaps supporting it, racegoers can look forward to an enjoyable afternoon of sport in South Wales.

As the summer racing season continues to gather momentum, Ffos Las once again provides an excellent stage for horses and connections to showcase their abilities in what promises to be a memorable day’s racing.
