Day 15 of the Bangalore Summer Meeting concluded in style with The Basque Plate Div I, the closing race of the afternoon. Held at 5:00 PM, the 1200-meter handicap for horses rated 20 to 45 offered a purse of ₹5,10,000 and brought the curtains down on a high note.
Felisa delivered a strong late run to take top honours, winning under a composed ride by Pavan for trainer Irfan Ghatala in 1:12.80. The runner carried the silks of M/s. Arun Alagappan Racing LLP, Mr. Joydeep Datta Gupta, and Sarainaga Racing Pvt Ltd, clocking a performance that capped off the day’s racing action perfectly.
Finishing second was Eastern Gold, guided by Akshay Kumar and trained by Darius R. Byramji, who stayed on gamely in the straight but could not reel in the winner and recorded a time of 1:13.23.
Royal Deccan completed the frame with a finish time of 1:13.37, ridden by Antony Raj S. and trained by Arjun Mangalorkar, adding another solid effort to the team’s campaign.
With the final race run and the grandstands slowly clearing out, The Basque Plate Div I closed the chapter on a competitive and eventful day at the Bangalore Turf Club.
