The excitement at the Mysore Race Club continued with the Prince Regent Plate, the fourth race of the day held at 3:30 PM. Run over a quick 1200 meters and open to horses rated 20 to 45, the contest offered a total prize purse of Rs. 4,50,000, with Felicita emerging as the standout performer in this sprint showdown in 1:12.248.
Trained by Helleal Moses R and guided skillfully by jockey Shyam Kumar, Felicita showed a sharp turn of foot to outpace her rivals and claim the top spot in commanding fashion. The win not only rewarded the winning team with Rs. 2,25,000, but also reflected the strong preparation and form the filly carried into this event.
Giving a strong fight but falling just short was Arikattu, ridden by experienced jockey C. Umesh and trained by K. S. Mandanna. The gelding made a bold bid in 1:12.552, approaching the final furlong but couldn’t reel in the front-runner.
Finishing third was The Golden Sunrise, trained by S. Santosh Rao and piloted by N.B. Kuldeep, who stayed on well in the closing stages to grab the final spot on the podium, continuing her consistent run in handicaps at this level in 1:12.621.
