The afternoon’s racing at Pune Racecourse continued to thrill as Exotic Star (J: K. Pranil) delivered a commanding performance to win The Aster Rose Plate (Race 8)—a Class V event for Indian horses aged four years and over, rated 1 to 26, run over 1800 metres on Sunday, 2nd November 2025. Clocking 1:54:437, the S. Waheed-trained galloper carried the silks of Mr Ketan S. Wakkar, Mr Hittesh Chabria, Mr Shivam Amarnath Mishra, Mr Anil V. Poduval, Mr Rajiv Tinaikar, Mrs Minal Pitale, Mr Suresh Pitale, and Mr Nihar Pitale representing Green Turf Racing LLP, showcasing both poise and stamina en route to victory.
Breaking cleanly and settling into a smooth rhythm early, Exotic Star tracked the leaders with patience before making a decisive move at the top of the straight. Jockey K. Pranil timed the run to perfection, guiding his mount through a well-judged stretch drive that saw the pair pull away confidently in the final furlong. The win underlined the improving form of S. Waheed’s stable this season.
The ever-consistent Yuletide (J: Avinash Paswan, T: Narendra Lagad) fought hard but had to settle for second, finishing close behind in 1:54:602, while Daianne (J: Bharat Singh, T: Karthik Ganapathy) filled the third spot with a determined effort, clocking 1:54:836. The narrow margins between the top finishers reflected the competitive depth of the Class V division.
With Race 8 wrapped up, attention now turns to the Pune Cantonment Board Trophy (Div I) at 5:00 PM, as the penultimate stages of the Pune Meeting 2025 promise more thrilling finishes at the Royal Western India Turf Club.
