The racing action at the Pune Meeting 2025, Eleventh Day, Sunday, 2nd November, at the Royal Western India Turf Club, saw an impressive display in Race 3 – The B. Prakash Salver, a Class III contest for Indian horses rated 40 to 66 (20 to 39 eligible), run over 1400 metres at 2:00 PM. Encino, trained by Adhirajsingh Jodha and masterfully ridden by P. Trevor, delivered a commanding performance to claim top honours. Representing Mr Gautam Lala rep. Gainsville Stud & Agl Farm Pvt. Ltd., Mr Kishore P. Rungta, Mr S. R. Sanas & Mr Ajay K. Arora clocking at 1:24:304, Encino’s victory highlighted his growing maturity and racing potential.

Breaking smartly and settling well into stride, Encino positioned himself comfortably just off the pace in the early stages. Trevor’s patient handling ensured the gelding conserved energy until the crucial final furlong, where a sharp burst of acceleration saw him take charge of proceedings. Showing fine rhythm and control, Encino drew clear from his rivals in the closing stages, marking a decisive and confident triumph for his connections.

Treat, ridden by A. Prakash and trained by Imtiaz A. Sait, fought valiantly in the straight to secure second place after tracking the leader throughout in 1:25:219. Amazing Ruler, under Amyn Merchant for trainer Faisal A. Abbas, ran on resolutely to grab third, rounding off an engaging finish to the mid-card event (1:25:300).

As the crowd’s cheers settled following Encino’s smart win, attention turned swiftly to the next on the card — The Pune Cantonment Board Trophy (Div II), scheduled for 2:30 PM, promising another thrilling chapter in Pune’s racing afternoon.
