As racing continued to unfold on the final day of the Bangalore Summer Meeting, the third contest, the Racing Officials Cup brought a unique challenge at Bangalore Turf Club. The 1400-meter handicap was run as a whipless race, testing both horse and rider on balance, rhythm, and natural competitiveness.
El Alamein, trained by Faraz Arshad and steered with restraint and skill by Vivek G., proved up to the task. Owned by Mrs. Kokila E. and Mr. Arun Kumar K. N., the gelding responded gamely when asked, surging to the lead in the final meters and stopping the clock at 1:26.57.
Hot on his heels was Able One, partnered by Asirvatham for trainer Azhar Ali, who showed grit in finishing second in 1:26.96. A further half-length back was Double Vision, piloted by R. Robert for S. Shoban Babu, closing out the frame in 1:27.47.
The whipless format placed a premium on composure and trust between horse and rider and El Alamein passed the test with flying colours.
