The curtain-raiser at Mysore Racecourse on Thursday, 25th September 2025, saw the 1st race — The Shimsha Plate, a Class V event for horses rated 00 to 25 over 1600 metres — produce an exciting contest. ECO SYSTEM (J: Pavan, T: Ranjeet Shinde), owned by Mr Girish Byrappa, made a commanding statement, crossing the finish line in a time of 1:39.146 to claim a decisive victory at 2:30 PM.

From the outset, the race unfolded at a brisk pace, with ECO SYSTEM settling mid-field under Pavan’s confident guidance. Approaching the final turn, the gelding found a strong rhythm, quickening decisively to surge past rivals. Displaying a blend of stamina and tactical speed, ECO SYSTEM dominated the home stretch to secure victory with authority, marking a memorable triumph for trainer Ranjeet Shinde and his connections.

SLING SHOT (J: Suhas K., T: V Lokanath) proved a determined challenger, finishing a close second in 1:39.874, keeping the winner in check for much of the home stretch. STRIKING EYES (J: V. R. Jagdeesh, T: V Lokanath) closed well to claim third place in 1:40.366, rounding out a competitive top three finish.

With the excitement of The Shimsha Plate settled, racing fans now turn their attention to the Sri Kanteerava Narasimharaja Sports Club Trophy, set to kick off at 3:00 PM, promising another thrilling chapter at Mysore’s Monsoon Meeting.
