As the Irish racing calendar continues, Down Royal Racecourse will provide the stage for a competitive seven-race flat programme on Friday, 17 July. The evening fixture will offer more than €99,000 in prize money across a varied schedule of juvenile handicaps, maidens and staying contests, with races ranging from five furlongs to one mile and five furlongs. The meeting will bring together emerging youngsters, progressive middle-distance performers and experienced campaigners, adding another quality chapter to Ireland’s summer flat racing season.

The evening will begin with the younger generation in action at 17:05 in THE AMPION ELECTRICAL TESTING AND SOLAR EXPERTS NURSERY HANDICAP. Run over 5f for €12,000, the opening contest has attracted Bit Of A Buzz, Shafters Legacy, Tatianna, Santorini Storm and Mr Montauk. The juvenile handicap will launch the programme with a competitive field of developing sprinters over the minimum trip.

Sprint performers will remain in the spotlight at 17:42 with THE AMPION ELECTRICAL TESTING AND SOLAR EXPERTS HANDICAP. The 5f contest carries a purse of €10,000 and features Bye Bye Now, Shamanka, Viamonte, Spirit Of Eagles and Raven’s Call among the entries. The race will continue the fast-paced nature of the opening stages of the meeting while offering another competitive handicap.

Attention will then turn to emerging talent in THE IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF MAIDEN at 18:15. Worth €18,000 and run over 7f 25yds, the maiden includes Belicoso, Give Me Liberty, West Of Eden, Cashel Queen and Seaxburh. The contest provides an important platform for lightly raced horses as they continue their early development in competitive company.

The programme will then move into middle-distance territory at 18:49 with THE AMPION ELECTRICAL TESTING AND SOLAR EXPERTS MAIDEN. The race covers 1m 2f 140yds for €12,000 and has attracted Trovao Dourado, Chloe’s Boy, Hamiyan, Royal Ballet Blue and Storzando. The longer trip is expected to place a greater emphasis on stamina and racecraft as the evening progresses.

The staying division will take centre stage at 19:24 in THE GAIN THE ADVANTAGE SERIES APPRENTICE HANDICAP. Run over 1m 5f with €15,000 in prize money, the contest features Banana Three, Booklight, Memories Maker, Rising Sky and Numidia. Apprentice riders will have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in one of the meeting’s competitive staying events.

Feature race honours will belong to THE AMPION ELECTRICAL TESTING AND SOLAR EXPERTS FILLIES HANDICAP at 19:59. Carrying the evening’s highest prize of €20,000, the 1m 5f contest has attracted Stellar Quality, Beauparc, Alba Chiara, Teologia and La Dame Blanche. The valuable fillies’ handicap stands as the highlight of the programme and adds further quality to the evening fixture.

The curtain will come down on the meeting at 20:30 with THE AMPION ELECTRICAL TESTING AND SOLAR EXPERTS HANDICAP. The closing 1m 5f contest offers €12,000 in prize money and includes Leeward, Sea Of Dubka, Glen Echo, Chapel Island and Onyeisi among the runners. The finale completes a well-balanced programme featuring sprint races, maidens and staying handicaps across seven contests.

The Down Royal fixture will offer a varied evening of Irish flat racing through a blend of juvenile events, informative maiden contests and competitive handicaps. With substantial prize money distributed across the card and races catering to a wide range of performers, the programme is set to provide another strong addition to the Irish racing calendar.

The Down Royal Race Cards 17 July feature seven races worth more than €99,000, highlighted by juvenile handicaps, valuable maiden contests and competitive staying races, including the €20,000 fillies’ feature.
