The fifth race of the Monsoon Meeting at the Royal Calcutta Turf Club (RCTC) on Sunday, 28th September 2025, saw the Class IV contest, The Elistano Handicap Div II, over 1400 meters, produce an electrifying finish. DON’TSTOPTHEMUSIC (4Y B F), ridden with precision by Aleemuddin and trained by Patrick Quinn, surged ahead to claim victory in 1:25.004 for owners Mr Koushik Dutta, Mr Mohammed Shakeel & Mr Benny Selwyn. The performance marked a commanding display of speed and composure in a competitive field.
From the start, DON’TSTOPTHEMUSIC settled well in the pack before making a decisive move approaching the final bend. Displaying sharp acceleration and impeccable timing, Aleemuddin guided her through the opening gaps, taking control in the final 200 meters. The winner’s tactical positioning and burst of pace left competitors trailing, securing a convincing win under strong encouragement from the crowd.
Finishing closely behind, ENOLA HOLMES (3Y B F), partnered by Arul J H and trained by Neil Darashah, claimed second place in 1:26.500, showing persistent effort but unable to overhaul the front-runner. ONLY DREAMS (4Y CH F), ridden by P Tejeshwar for trainer Aashay Doctor, completed the podium in 1:26.698, adding further excitement to the tightly contested finish.
With The Elistano Handicap concluded, attention now turns to the Mountain Lily Handicap, scheduled for 2:30 PM, promising more thrilling racing action at RCTC’s Monsoon Meeting.
