The excitement continued to build as The Justice P. Medapa Memorial Trophy—the third race of the afternoon—delivered a powerful performance by Diablo, who surged past his rivals to clinch victory in the 1200-meter handicap for horses rated 40 to 65.

Guided skillfully by jockey P. Sai Kumar and trained by Prasad Raju K.S.V., Diablo showed tremendous acceleration down the final stretch, stopping the clock at 1:17.45 to secure an impressive mark and securing the winning purse of ₹3,15,015. The win reflected a blend of race awareness and timing, with Diablo capitalizing on a clean break and maintaining tempo throughout the sprint.

Don Carlos, ridden by P. Trevor and trained by S.S. Attaollahi, offered a strong challenge but couldn’t close the gap in time. The second-place effort earned connections ₹1,57,495 and showcased consistency and tactical running by clocking at 1:17.47.

Rounding out the top three was Whirlwind, partnered by Neeraj Rawal under the watchful eye of trainer Vijay Singh. Whirlwind stayed within striking range throughout the race and managed to hold onto third, taking home ₹94,495 for a determined finish at 1:17.68.

With three races now in the books, The Justice P. Medapa Memorial Trophy has raised the tempo for the rest of the card. Focus now turns to the upcoming feature: The World Blood Donor Day Cup, promising more thrilling action from the heart of Indian racing.
