The Definitive Sha Tin win provided one of the principal highlights of Sunday afternoons meeting at Sha Tin, where the five-year-old gelding landed the HK$3.12 million Class 2 Muk Min Ha Handicap over 1650 metres on dirt. Partnered by Karis Teetan for trainer David Eustace, Definitive produced a commanding performance to score by two and a quarter lengths.
Carrying 115lb, Definitive jumped from barrier seven and settled behind leader Sing Dragon, who carried 127lb, while Sky Vino occupied third place along the rail. Teetan kept the War Decree gelding within striking distance before gradually moving closer approaching the home turn.
Definitive moved alongside the leader before taking control at the 400-metre mark. Once in front, he maintained a strong rhythm through the closing stages and completed the 1650-metre contest in 1:38. Talents Ambition finished second, while Sky Vino secured third.
The Definitive Sha Tin win gave Eustace his fifth victory of the season and continued an encouraging start to his campaign. The success followed Colourful Kings Group 3 victory on October 1 and provided another notable result for the stable.
Teetan produced a well-judged ride throughout the contest, allowing Definitive to conserve his energy before asking him to quicken at the crucial stage. The gelding responded strongly and settled the race before the closing stages.
Eustace was also pleased with the way the race unfolded and indicated that Definitive would face further challenges from the handicapper. Happy Valley remained another suitable option for the gelding, given his effective record at the venue.

Lor also completed a training double when Horsepower secured the Class 3 Shing Mun Handicap over 1000 metres. Andrea Atzeni partnered the Harry Angel gelding, who raced for Michael Lee and his family.

Purton also partnered KOL to victory in the Class 4 Kwok Shui Handicap over 1200 metres for trainer David Hayes. The double moved the nine-time Hong Kong Champion Jockey to 14 wins in the 2026/27 season, six clear of his nearest rivals.
Purton had accumulated 2,035 victories in Hong Kong since beginning his career in the city during the 2007/08 season. His latest milestone added further distinction to an already remarkable record at Sha Tin.

Supreme Agility was declared the winner of the Class 4 Sha Tsui Handicap over 1650 metres on dirt following an inquiry and objection. The Pierre Ng-trained runner had initially finished second under James Orman before the result was amended.
Ng indicated that Supreme Agility had developed considerably during the season and had shown greater sharpness in a recent trial. The gelding was expected to move into Class 3 carrying a lighter weight for his next assignment.
The meeting concluded with another competitive result in the Class 3 Yau Kom Tau Handicap over 1200 metres, where six-year-old Bunta Baby denied Solid State. Luke Ferraris partnered the Manfred Man-trained gelding to his fourth career victory.
